Green Acres Nursery & Supply

Wowza! What a beautiful place! I was visiting from out of town and went in with my daughter. We share a love of plants, and she knew I would enjoy this store. She was 100 percent correct! It's like eye candy for all things botanical! It was so clean and well stocked and visually pleasing to the eye. They sell all kinds of stuff from pots to outdoor furniture and more kinds of trees and plants than I've ever seen in one store. We had so much fun looking around. The employees were all very nice but one man in particular was wonderful! I wish I could remember his name! He was outside and asked if we needed any help and then we started a conversation with him. He said he was retired, but that he loves plants and working outside, so he got a job here. He was so sweet and obviously happy with sharing his love of plants! A truly stellar employee! Anyway, this place is awesome, and you should go in and look around for yourself! It's a cool place!

Not my favorite Green Acres for several reasons: very few staff available in the plant nursery area and even fewer staff that actually have any reasonable plant knowledge. Extremely disappointing and frustrating! I guess it’s all about the bottom line and the store manager hires seasonal or temporary staff with very little plant knowledge and experience. The hourly pay is appalling too and the weekly work hours fluctuate… so this is probably the reason they’re not successful in attracting the right people with suitable skills. If you want better plants in terms of quality and variety, it’s best to not waste your time here, and visit the first, original Green Acres that was established in Sacramento on Jackson Road. I also recommend the Green Acres in Auburn, which is the best of all the Green Acres nurseries!

I really love this place. My dog was older and there weren't many other places you could take her. When we got her out of the car she knew they had treats and water in there. Even when she was fourteen and close up the end we took her there and she tried to do a trick at the counter top get a treat. We usually get plant arrangements for our family members as they love them for the holidays. The staff are always very good with the info and very courteous.

2 stars for their variety of plants and annuals. But, that is about it for the positive side. For the last couple of years I've felt the quality of their annuals has gone down considerably.. but the prices keep rising! This year I ended up with pansies and violas that were infested with white flies. Now they're on all my plants on my patio. 😭 Last year it was issues with spider mites. Ick. And so hard to get rid of. If you look closely you'll see many flowers are not doing well, all crammed in so tight with each other so when you pull one out, it either destroys the other plants next to it or stems will be broken in the one you want. I spent A TON of money here, but I don't think I'll be coming back anymore for a while. Also, it would nice if the annuals that are just about out of season - would be priced for clearance. Not the same price as they were when they first arrived. And if there are abundance of one kind or color, maybe price it right so they don't just end up rotting. Not sure if their supplier is different or what has happened. Also, many of the employees don't have any gardening or plant experience.

Our family loves Green Acres. We have been buying our plants, pots, compost, bird feeders, and garden furnishings from them for years. We shop at all the Sacramento area stores. The people who work at all the Green Acres locations, as well as the brilliant individual who handles their social media, couldn't be lovelier. Five-Star customer service, selection, quality, and ambience.
